During the last three months of 2018 I participated in an international art tour; traversing twelve cities in eight countries creating 23 plein-air paintings, three public art murals, and research for upcoming portfolio work. During this time I chose three focal residency locations: Saint Petersburg, Russia; Punta de Mita, Mexico; and Barcelona, Spain where I interviewed art galleries for future exhibitions and was invited to create community art projects with emphasis on working with local youth. Having an opportunity to do an international art tour emphasizing cross- border relationships has reinforced thematics of personal culture within immigrant dynamics. These lessons in trans-cultural research have inspired further clarity and meaning between this past experience and upcoming opportunity for solo work.
